The Thorned Monarch's Techniques
- Natural Abilities:
- Dark World Portals: Can summon dark world portals.
- Dark World Portals: Can summon dark world portals.
- Basic Abilities:
- Levitation: Can levitate a few inches to a foot above the ground as he moves and fights. Increases speed and agility by 10% and makes it more difficult to knock him off-balance.
- Rain of Thorns: Can use his thorned blade as a ranged weapon often by raising his sword over his head, then swinging downward. A single swing launches about eight thorns.
- Chain Snare: Xaldius can move his barbed chains as extensions of himself. In this way they can be used to grab onto objects from up to 150 meters. He can pull himself toward them or pull them toward himself extremely rapidly in this way as well. This can be used in combat to employ the chains as barbed whips and other improvised weapons. They can be used to grapple enemies as well.
- Indemnity: Due to his unconventional vessel of being, Xaldius can repair damage to and improve upon his metal form and assimilate them to his being slowly during breaks in battle. This can be done with any metal that isn't soft, such as gold, or damaged/corroded to the point of uselessness.

- Entropy (Minor) - This ability allows Xaldius to cast a blast of black, shadowy "flames" directly in front of him that linger for a second. This ability is limited to melee range only.
Xaldius charges this ability with one hand across his body by the opposite shoulder as a black smoke begins to emanate from the gauntlet. He must charge this ability for one post, keep a free hand to do so, and cannot take any offensive action until the charge is complete. After which, he can hold the charge as long as he keeps it charged in the same free hand. Upon casting, he swings the hand out in front of him in a horizontal arc, causing the flames to explode out of his gauntlet.
This ability has a defensive and offensive application: defensively, he can cast this to negate incoming spells of equal or lesser power. This can be countered, however by luring the block, then delaying a counter-spell by a second or two.
Offensively, this can be used to "interrupt" a mage's flow of magic very briefly, should it hit. Physically, it causes no damage whatsoever nor does it have any knock-back. It simply weakens the mage's magic firepower by 50% for a very short period (1 post), during which the mage can still dodge or block as normal.
